An A to Z lesson: I am a Child of God Booklet

Just wanted to share a cute booklet that I have in my A to Z file. You could use it for a lesson on being A Child of God in Sharing Time or for Family Home Evening.

Check it out:
My All About Me Book

Poem: Who I Really Am

Who I Really Am
by Cindy Maybon

Some say I have my mother's eyes.
My smile comes from my dad.
My freckles come from Grandpa,
And all this makes me glad.

I share the curls in my hair
With uncles whom I love.
but the truth of who I really am
comes from up above.

A child of god is who I am,
A child of royal birth.
My Father up in heaven
Sent me here to earth.

As I take this journey
And try valiantly each day,
I know He watches over me
And listens when I pray.

So if the path gets thorny
And the way feels not so clear,
I remember who I really am
And that takes away each fear.

Sharing Time on: I am a Child of God

Start out by asking the children questions such as: “Whose favorite food is pizza?, Whose favorite color is red?" Each time I ask a question, the children can raise their hands. I'm going to use favorite food, colors, holidays and then end on talents like: "Who likes to play soccer? Who likes to play the piano? Who likes to baby sit?" Explain that we are different and have different likes and dislikes and talents. Explain what talents are if they are not sure what they are. Then ask the children how we are all alike: Then share with them that we are all Children of God, and that we should be thankful to be A Child of God.

Jr. Primary: Have them make the All about Me book found here
Sr. Primary : Play I am a Child of God game taken from here (found under Child of God gameboard, cards, and instructions, etc)

If time left after game:
Discuss the following scriptures:
